Carbon capture is a process that captures carbon dioxide (CO2) from a point source and injects the captured CO2 safely underground for permanent storage. Carbon capture will allow lignite coal to continue to be utilized for generations as a carbon-free energy source.  Electricity generated by coal is the most affordable and reliable source of energy.
